Make time to "Do North"
Formerly Barrington Lake Camp and now Do North Lodge, it is the only place on this waterway today and being surrounded by the serenity of Wabakimi Provincial Park it will remain that way. Barrington Lake camp was previously owned by Stanley West since 1989. He found this place while having breakfast one morning in Canada while on a fishing trip. He noticed a woman crying at a table in a cafe. He went over to console her and asked if there was anything he could do to help her. He found out that her husband had passed, and she had no idea how she would continue running their camp without him. Over a few months and numerous conversations, Stanley eventually bought Barrington Lake camp from her, and he spent the next 35+ years living his dream and sharing this amazing place with a very select few. These lakes have had very little fishing pressure during his 35 years. Stanley was very protective of this exclusive fishery and has really contributed to the quality fishing you will find here today.
If you search for Barrington Lake camp you will find that it was operated and opened briefly to the public by another person who Stanely had sold it to on a contract for deed. That person had operated it for a couple years and then COVID hit. During COVID he was unable to perform on his contract and along with other reasons, Stanley got it back. Over the last few years, it has seen very few people due to that process. It is now reopened as Do North Lodge with new owners. The fishing was outstanding last year for the few people the new owners brought in as they were evaluating it. Best fishery the new owners have ever fished, and Timm was a traveling tournament angler for years, so that's saying something.
New owners (and brothers) Troy and Timm have been traveling to this area for many years with their families. They have enjoyed a few of the camps on nearby Savant Lake. The family who operates all but one of those camps with over 4 generations of family members have been truly inspirational to us and our children. Without even knowing it they have been a big part in making this dream reveal itself to us. Ever since our first time to one of their camps we have always said, if an opportunity ever came up to own a place like this and be off all by ourselves, we would want to make it happen and share it with our family too. Thanks to a series of events that dream has come true, and a family legacy has been born.
Barrington Lake is stunning and extremely private with unbelievable fishing. We intend to keep it that way and we are excited to share it with a select few who will grow to love and cherish it as we do. We are limiting our camp to a certain number of people each week and each year to keep it peacefully uncrowded and sustain the crazy good fishing. You can catch fish on most any lake in Canada, but this place is in a league of its own. Make sure you get in on the action this year. Those who get up here this year will undoubtably go home and share their Do North experience with others and will return with more guests for years to come. Our limited openings will be met in no time. There are people who have been coming here during and before Stanley ever owning it, they are on our list already for years to come. Get on our list and become a repeat guest while you can. Don't miss out!
