We are located in NW Ontario near Savant Lake, ON Canada, about a 4 1/2-hour drive north of the MN/CA border. Whether you go through International Falls or Grand Portage, it's about the same distance. We are on the south end of Barrington Lake, within the Wabakimi Provincial Park. We are about a two-hour train ride east of Sioux Lookout, ON and about an hour and 45 minutes NW of lake Nipigon.
No. We are a fly-in or train-in only camp. That’s why our fishing is so amazing. Nobody can get to us by car or boat and motor.
The only way here is by plane or train. The shortest route is from Savant Lake, ON, which is about 20 minutes away from the camp.
We do not include the train or flight in our rates - our guests deal directly with them for less confusion and costs. Please contact us with questions or info.
If you prefer to travel by plane, we recommend you use Rusty Myers out of Savant Lake - they always do a great job.

They have an east-bound and a west-bound passenger train that travels past our camp once on Mondays and Thursdays every week. It is important to not miss your train, or you will need to wait until the following Monday or Thursday or pay to fly. We recommend boarding the train in Sioux Lookout, ON. There are more things to do there, and you also have cell phone service to track your train online. It boards around 6:30 a.m. and it's about an hour 1/2 ride to our private stop.
If you need a place to stay while in Sioux Lookout, we offer a discount promo code to use at Sunset Inn and Suites at the time of booking. You can board the train in Savant Lake, but there is no cell service unless you stay at the Four Winds hotel and use their Wi-Fi. The ride from Savant Lake is about 25 minutes.
If you are coming from the east, you can also board the train in Armstrong. From there it's about a 1 1/2 hour ride to our stop.
Walleye, Northern Pike, and some Perch. Our camp has exclusive access to multiple lakes. You will not see another building on our lakes, our guests are the only people allowed to use boats and motors in this part of the Wabakimi Park. It is a popular canoeing destination, so you may see them, but it is very rare. The Park is 3,444 square miles with no roads in it. The only ways in are to fly, train, hike, or canoe in. The nearest road is 20 miles away from us.
You can catch over a hundred fish a day here any time of the year. As the only camp on these lakes there is very little pressure on the fishery and you will catch fish here no matter what your skill level is, you don’t need live bait to do it. Don’t set your pole down with your line in or near the surface of the water because you could lose it.
Yes, we currently have 3 portages to lakes with a boat cache. Most people do not use them because the fishing is so great on our lakes, but if you are the more adventurous type, we do have them, you can explore either Heafer or Foam Lake near the north end of Barrington Lake. We also have a boat cache on an unnamed lake south of the train tracks that you can walk to right from our camp.
Kids 15 and under are free with a paying adult. 16 to 17 are half price. Price includes cabin, boat, motor, unlimited gas, bottled water, WiFi, etc. Depending on your cabin preference, adults pay $160 to $175 (U.S. funds) per day plus tax.
No, we do not at this time, but we may entertain it in the future if the demand is there.
Always check online at www.ontario.ca/page/fishing for up-to-date regulations and to purchase your license ahead of time. We appreciate you following camp rules and release all Walleyes over 18 inches and Northerns over 35 1/2 inches, you will have no problem finding fish to eat. Our fishery is in its glory days. We are the only camp on this lake therefore, we are the only ones that can ruin it. Replicas are way better for our fishery and last longer too.

Our boats are 14 -16 ft with 4 stroke 15 hp electric start Hondas plus we have 5hp and 9.9hp motors at 3 lakes you can portage to where we have boat caches. Boats come with unlimited gas, landing nets, paddle's, stringer, seats, minnow buckets, and a safety kit. We have life vests but recommend you bring your own if you have a favorite or require a size other than 1X or 2X. If you have a favorite graph, bring it. Our boats have batteries that you can attach to. No need to worry about charging every night.
The lake looks relatively small on a map, but you can boat to over 10,000 acres of prime fishing waters from our camp. We have scenic channels that lead you to other lakes. Plus, we have 3 portages to lakes with a boat and motor for the more adventurous type. Barrington Lake has more than enough all by itself and there is no need to travel far for excellent fishing. It will take multiple trips for you to see all that this place has to offer. The shape of the lake really makes it nice to fish no matter how windy it might get. Big waves will not prevent you from fishing here.
